It’s a zabuton made of hemp.
The hemp fabric is highly absorbent and creates a feeling of coolness and comfort, so it is often used for a summer zabuton. Some asazabutons are stuffed with less than normal amount of cotton batting to make it more breathable.
In haiku, “asazabuton” is used as a kigo (a seasonal term) of summer.
